The New Zealand Learning Discovery Trust is a group of people committed to making learning fun. Our drive is to ensure that we create real options within the state education system within New Zealand so that children have the choice of a style of learning that best fits their needs. We have aimed to do this within the state compulsory sector so that the choices are available to all, and not only available to those who can afford private fees.
We believe that we will all need to be life long learners and we want the compulsory sector to create an environment where a child's curiosity and wonder at learning is retained and nurtured.
The NZ Learning Discovery Trust was set up in early 1998 by a small group of Christchurch parents, principals and business people in order to achieve opportunities for children to learn in a way that was not being provided by the existing state (or indeed private) school system.
